The aim of the “Together for Stronger Volunteering” project is to promote volunteering and to support its high-quality implementation in the school education sector.
At the heart of the project is cooperation between teachers, students and civil society organisations, because we believe that real change can only be achieved together.
The initiative seeks to increase students’ participation in volunteering, to develop teachers’ methodological and educational competences, and to provide professional and methodological support to the civil society organisations that host volunteers.
The project pays particular attention to the current challenges of volunteering, such as low student participation and the gaps in communication and structure between host organisations and schools.
Our goal is to build a sustainable system that supports long-term cooperation between all actors of volunteering, at both national and international level.
The project is implemented in cooperation between Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. It brings European added value by building on the exchange of experience and the sharing of knowledge.

Supporting Teachers

Developing Training Curricula and Methodological Materials
We are developing multi-module training materials for students, teachers and civil society organisations.
The curricula cover areas such as communication techniques, conflict management, organising and managing volunteering, and cooperation with schools.
The development is supported by professional workshops and international consultations.

Research and Needs Assessment
In the first phase of the project, we assess the current state of volunteering in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.
Using questionnaires and focus group interviews, we explore the experiences, challenges and needs of teachers, students and civil society organisations.
The results form the basis for developing the training materials.

Creating an Online Platform
We are creating an interactive, multilingual online platform in English, Hungarian, Romanian and Slovak. It presents good practices in volunteering, includes legal and cultural background information, offers a knowledge base for teachers, students and organisations, and allows volunteers and host organisations to register and connect with each other.
Organisations can advertise their volunteering opportunities, and students can search for and apply to them.

Testing and Fine-Tuning
We test the completed training materials through trainings in all three countries.
Based on participants’ feedback, we further develop and finalise the materials.
International Mobility
During these mobilities, we share good practices and strengthen our partnership.
We make the project’s results widely available through events, workshops, publications and online channels.
We also run campaigns to promote volunteering, with a special focus on involving young people with fewer opportunities.
Communication and Dissemination

Three international exchanges of experience will take place.
