The aim of the “Together for Stronger Volunteering” project is to strengthen the role of volunteering in the school education system and to develop cooperation between schools, students and civil society organisations. The initiative seeks to increase young people’s participation in volunteering activities, while providing methodological and professional support to teachers and to the organisations that host volunteers.

Within the project, we pay particular attention to the current challenges of volunteering, especially the low participation rate of students and the gaps in communication and cooperation between schools and host organisations. To address these, we carry out research and develop training programmes and innovative methodological materials that support more effective, higher-quality volunteering.

The project is implemented in a partnership between Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. Its aim is to build a sustainable system of cooperation that supports the development of volunteering in the long term and promotes the exchange of experience and good practices at international level.

NIT a Fiatalokért Nonprofit Kft.

NIT a Fiatalokért Nonprofit Kft. (NIT for Youth Nonprofit Ltd.) is the professional background organisation of the National Youth Council of Hungary and acts as a national knowledge centre supporting actors in the youth field. Its mission is to strengthen young people’s participation in society, to support the work of professionals working with young people, and to foster cooperation between professional communities, institutions and decision-makers.

The organisation focuses on the professional development of those working with young people – especially youth workers, teachers and social professionals – and on promoting knowledge sharing and innovative solutions. It supports the youth sector through trainings, professional forums, workshops and conferences. Through research and analysis, it also contributes to understanding current issues in youth affairs, digital awareness, media use and child protection.

A key goal of the organisation is to connect youth organisations and professionals and to create professional platforms that encourage the exchange of experience, cooperation and joint development. As a project coordinator, it plays an active role in building national and international partnerships and in implementing development programmes.

A flagship initiative of NIT a Fiatalokért Nonprofit Kft. is the Digital Awareness and Youth Protection Education Centre (DIOK), which uses research, training and awareness-raising programmes to help children and young people be present online safely, responsibly and consciously.

The organisation’s work is founded on the belief that young people are not only the future but also active shapers of the present. Through its activities, it therefore contributes to a social environment that supports young people’s development, community engagement and active participation in society.
