From 11 to 13 February 2024, Berde Mózes Unitarian High School hosted a pilot training attended by 16 non-profit organisations.

What was the aim?

The aim of the programme was for civil society organisations to:

  • run their volunteer programmes more consciously and sustainably

  • develop the toolkit they need to involve and support volunteers

  • strengthen their cooperation with educational institutions

Participants included, among others, Caritas and the Cristuru Secuiesc (Székelykeresztúr) Town Library.

How did the training work?

The programme was practice-oriented and covered several important topics:

  • communication and conflict management

  • motivating young people

  • developing a feedback culture

  • coordinating volunteers effectively

Participants:

  • worked on case studies

  • prepared group action plans

  • shared their own experiences and good practices with each other

What were the results?

As a result of the training:

  • the organisations’ professional awareness increased

  • they now work with a more advanced methodological toolkit

  • concrete, feasible action plans were created

Why does this matter?

The programme contributed to building stronger cooperation between civil society and education.
In the long term, this creates volunteering opportunities that offer young people real experiences and opportunities for growth.
